Since VA is under governors orders to social distance through June 10, we will be having our next three meetings by Skype (NOT Zoom). We are using Skype because Ken Schellenberg is our resident Skype Book Meeting Guru and his other book club meets by Skype. Being gay men I have a feeling we all have Skype on our phones or Laptops (hee hee hee).
Our meeting is this Thursday, April 16 from 7:30 to 9:00. Read Ken’s directions below and do a test before the date, as instructed, to make sure your device is working okay. Skype is free to download if you don’t have it already, and you don’t need a paid membership to meet longer than 40 minutes. Ken uses it successfully for his other two groups and is and IT person so I know we are in good hands.
If you are like me you wait to the last minute to do things but please do the test at least 24 or preferably 48 hours BEFORE the meeting. Tonight is not too early! It’s critical. If you wait till the meeting and then have connectivity or function issues it will eat into the meeting time, so please do so before-hand so any issues are ironed out in advance.
There’s some Skype manners posted at http://slouching.org that would be good to look at so things go smoothly.
The book is Confessions of the Fox by Rosenberg.
Let me know if there are any questions. Any Zoom issues please email Ken directly and CC me. Kensch@slouching.org – Ken. Lovellsjl@aol.com – Steve.
