Doorways offers a comprehensive domestic and sexual violence response to the community. As a first priority, Doorways staff and volunteers ensure all callers to our Hotline are provided with crisis intervention and safety planning 24-hours a day. The Hotline is also the gateway to the Doorways’ Safehouse for those fleeing imminent danger. In addition, staff and volunteers provide comprehensive information on local resources, referrals and other wrap-around services. These services include our Doorways Court Advocacy program and our Revive Counseling program. Additionally, we provide a 24-hour hospital response for survivors of sexual assault and those seeking a domestic violence forensic exams. The Inova Ewing Forensic Assessment and Consultation Team’s (FACT) mission is to address the unique needs of abused children and adults in our community. The trained and compassionate staff offer expert medical evaluation, forensic evidence collection, DNA collection, and provide expert interpretation based on training, experience and medical data. They offer injury assessment and documentation, as well as referrals to legal resources, preventative medications, shelters and support services for intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and strangulation.
