Potlucks

We do hope you can join us for the annual Potluck To be announced Attendees will enjoy good food and an afternoon of conversation and camaraderie. Please bring a dish to share.

Location

Enjoy AGLA’s annual Potluck Dinner & Book Drive.

James Parrish, Executive Director of Equality Virginia, will join us to provide an update on the Virginia legislative session.

The Central Library is an easy walk from both Virginia Square and Ballston Metro Stations.

Bring a dish to share and any books to donate. The event is free, awesome and open to the public.

Bring a friend and see you there!

The event location is Arlington County Central Library Auditorium at 1015 N Quincy Street (between VA Square and Ballston Metro stations) Arlington, VA 22201 (free parking underground and next to the library; street parking meters free on Sundays).

Potluck Dinner: Try a new recipe you want to practice making or just bring something simple to share. AGLA will provide paper and plastic (e.g., plates, napkins, flatware). Book Donations and Swap: Bring as many new or gently used books as you have and donate them to the library. There is no cost to attend the potluck, but bringing a dish is appreciated. Please mark it if it is vegan or vegetarian.

Book Drive: Over the years, AGLA members have helped make LGBTQ-themed books available at county libraries. Please help continue that tradition. Before we donate books to the library, each AGLA member may select a book to take home; the library staff will be happy to receive the rest.

In addition, as ongoing community service, if you can, please bring along travel-sized unused soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc. for A-SPAN (www.a-span.org) , which provides life-sustaining services for homeless people. Or clean out your cupboard of unused nonperishable food items for AFAC (www.afac.org), the community leader in providing and promoting dignified access to nutritious food for people in need. This event will serve as a convenient collection point.

AGLA, the event host, is a beacon for equality in Northern Virginia. It’s an inclusive nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit open to all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning (LGBTQ) people and straight allies. It provides social activities, builds relationships with elected officials, and works with civic groups on community service. Join AGLA today (or renew) at https://agla.org/ and support a wonderful community organization.

Please join the Facebook event page and invite all your Facebook friends to join you at this event.
